What is the Chinese Philosphy on health and Wellbeing?
According to Taoist philosophy born in China thousands of years ago, everything in the universe is a balance of yin and yang and the key to your health and wellbeing is ‘qi/ki/chi’.
Yin and Yang are polar opposites to each other or, extreme opposites: Summer/Winter, Hot/Cold.
What is qi/ki/chi?
Chi is your life force, the energy that flows through you and through everything. It is that which gives you life.
The concept of qi/ki/chi has its roots in Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM). It is the essence of your true self.
What are pathways?
Pathways (or Meridians) are the circulation pathways of energy. These are what we work on during a chi medics treatment.
What is a Chi Medics treatment?
A treatment using the Chi Medics approach is a gentle treatment on the feet, ankles and lower legs (below the knee) applying pressure on points on pathways and Organ Chi points to balance the yin and yang aspects and maximise health and wellbeing on all four levels of existance - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It is very relaxing and rhythmic as we use your breathing in and out to work.
It is also a philosophical approach based on the Hippocratic Oath “I shall do no harm” and so works with the body rather than against it; and the approach is one of respectfully communicating with body and asking the body to correct imbalances of Chi in whatever manifestation it appears via simple, specific, and advanced techniques.
It offers support for pain, rehabilitation, acute and chronic conditions, also conception, maternity, babies and children and the elderly, including end of life.
Chi Medics therapy has also been used to provide assistance to those who are living with Mental Health issues, special needs and disabilities.
